The advantages of our technology

NUNOS's processing technology is based on a purely biological process and is installed directly on farms as a stand-alone system. This means that cattle manure and fermentation residues can be processed directly on site.

The result: a thin, odorless liquid fertilizer with nutrients that are directly available to plants. This enables precise fertilization according to plant needs and can be stored without loss thanks to chemically stable compounds. This significantly reduces emissions of ammonia and methane during storage and application - a significant contribution to climate protection.

In addition, the liquid fertilizer opens up new possibilities for the utilization of surplus manure. It can be used in greenhouses for special crops, ornamental plants and even in soilless cultivation.

As a spin-off of the German Aerospace Center, NUNOS builds on findings from space research to bring pioneering solutions to agriculture. With our innovative approach, we aim to establish regional nutrient cycles and make them more efficient - for a sustainable and resilient agriculture of tomorrow.

Better fertilizing effect

Nutrients are directly available to plants. Up to 20% higher yield possible compared to untreated manure.

Fewer greenhouse gases

Natural acidification reduces emissions of the greenhouse gases ammonia and methane.

New value creation

The new liquid fertilizer can be used as a replacement for mineral fertilizers in greenhouses.

Easy integration into existing structures

Our fully automated processing plant can be seamlessly integrated into existing structures of agricultural operations - directly at the stable or in front of your manure storage. The plant continuously processes the daily amount of cattle manure or fermentation residues and is designed to meet your individual requirements.

A big advantage: You can continue to use your existing storage options – there is no need to purchase additional storage capacity.

The technology explained in 2 minutes

The process in a nutshell

Without additives

The process does not require any additives such as sulphuric acid or rock flour.

Natural acidification

The fertilizer obtained from the plant is acidified (pH < 6.5), which significantly reduces emissions and increases the quality of the fertilizer.

Flexible Integration

The system can be flexibly connected to a stable or manure storage facility and seamlessly integrated into existing structures and operational processes.

Energy-saving

Thanks to the biological method, the process is particularly energy-saving and can be operated entirely with renewable energy sources.

Liquid fertilizer

The process mainly produces a liquid fertilizer that is quickly available to plants. In addition, a phosphorus-rich sludge with a high organic content is produced.

recycling

The process is versatile and suitable for treating liquid organic waste from a wide variety of sources.

VISION & MISSION

At NUNOS, we are committed to establishing and efficiently designing regional nutrient cycles in agriculture. Our goal is to enable farmers to make optimal use of their resources, strengthen their independence and at the same time protect the surrounding ecosystems. Together, we are creating sustainable and future-proof agriculture.
